Keyboard Audio Tour

The newly renovated permanent exhibit of keyboard instruments in the Collection’s second floor gallery is now featured in an audio tour that may be taken on site in the museum or experienced remotely online. Entitled “Music at Hand: Keyboard Instruments from Four Centuries,” the exhibit presents 27 highlights from the museum’s world-renowned holdings of over 100 keyboard instruments by European and American Makers.

Those taking the tour can choose to follow an ordered sequence to get a historical overview, or select individual examples at random. Most importantly, the sixteen instruments that are maintained in playing condition can be heard in examples of music recorded live during concerts that have been performed at the Collection.
